The following song was written by a young gentleman an
acquaintance of mine, who belonged to the Mifflin privateer.
As he gave me a copy, I have sent it to you, and, if
convenient, request you will insert it in your next.
Amicus. Boston, December 24, 1777.
Song.
ON THE GENERAL MIFFLIN PRIVATEER.
Air: "War and Washington."
  Let nations wrapt in wonder,
  Each gallant deed survey,
And as they view our glories, Incessant plaudits pay.
Let nature from the utmost verge attentive list to hear,
The honors which unting'd adorn the Mifflin Privateer.
